Hey there - my name is Karen Henderson and I have had the vision of Benbrook Tea and Wellness for many years. It just took some family decision making to get things rolling. I have lived in Benbrook (inconsecutively) since I was 12 years old. My husband and I continue to raise our family on the same street that my parents built their house on when we moved here from New York.
Benbrook Tea and Wellness was inspired during Covid – a place to bring people together to move, share a spot of tea, a cup of coffee, a treat and a conversation. Connection is so important. How about being able to meet someone at a Tea Shop instead of a Coffee Shop? Every time I have a meeting, it ends up at a coffee shop...and I enjoy coffee (I love coffee ice cream), but how about a softer, calmer, comfier environment instead?
I Love hot tea, so why not share it with others? Over Covid I learned about the different teas/herbs and how they can help me and my body, therefore it can help others too. I also think it's not fair that we - people that need to be gluten free - can’t always partake in desserts with friends/family. My vision was to sell locally homemade gluten free items (under the cottage law) so that I could help small businesses in my community. All the bakers need is a County approved kitchen to bake in and we're good to go. We will also have non-gluten free items.
The Wellness Room will have multiple gentle movement options to choose from. Such as meditation, breathing techniques, tapping, classes to help quiet our minds and bodies. I want to provide a warm and inviting environment to my community where they feel safe and allow themselves to explore many different wellness opportunities.
Thank you for visiting our website - see you soon.
